Coating Options

Aqueous Coating

A protective coating applied to coated stocks.  Aqueous coating has a glossy finish.  Coated stocks with aqueous coating are generally writable with most ballpoint pens but are not printable with desktop printers or most office mailing machines.   To ensure writability or printability, select an  uncoated stock or a gloss 1 side stock.

High Gloss UV Coating

High Gloss UV adds a very glossy appearance, similar to the effect of lamination.  High Gloss UV can enhance vibrant colors or designs and make them "pop" but does tend to show fingerprints more than aqueous coating.  UV coating also provides extra protection and water resistance.

UV Coating cannot be added to the back side if your job includes Mailing Services.

Dull UV Coating

Dull UV provides a more matte appearance, similar to a "satin" finish.  Dull UV coating reduces glare but by nature will make colors appear less vibrant; therefore Dull UV works best for subtle rather than vivid designs.  Dull UV coating also provides extra protection and water resistance. Although it has a matte appearance, Dull UV is not writable or printable with desktop or office printers/machines.

UV Coating cannot be added to the back side if your job includes Mailing Services.
