6 Brochure Design Ideas
If you have done brochure printing several times, you may find yourself running out of new ideas. Here are six ideas for changing it up this time. Use some of these ideas to help your brochure stand out from your old designs as well as your competitors'.
Print A Brochure Sideways
People are used to seeing brochures with vertical designs. For a new approach, try designing your brochure horizontally this time. Just make sure you put something eye-catching at one end of the cover so people notice it in brochure stands.
Make Your Brochure Open Like French Doors
Invite people to open up your brochure and come inside by creating a French door effect. Just design your brochure printing fold so that two flaps close inward and meet in the middle, also known as a gate fold. To enhance the effect, make your text and images cover both flaps as if they were one page. This works well for brochures that will be mailed.
If you want to put these in brochure stands, you can create a cover that is only one flap wide and then fold the brochure so that when you open the cover, the flaps meet in the middle for a French door effect.
Use a Famous Picture on the Cover
A famous picture can grab people's attentions because it is familiar and well-loved. You could use a well-known painting like the Mona Lisa, or a shot from a popular movie like Princess Bride. Just use something that relates to your business or topic in some way. If you can work humor in there somewhere, that can add interest to your brochure printing design as well.
Have a Collage of Pictures for Your Background
On the inside of your brochure, you can use a collage of photos related to your topic as a background. This works well if you have a lot of photos you want to use. Just make sure you wash out the pictures enough that the text is easy to read.
Print Text in a Different Color
Instead of using black text in your brochure printing, you can use a rich color like navy, slate, or plum. Using a different color of ink for text can help your brochure stand out and add a rich quality to it.
Print Light on Dark for Lots of Drama
Using a dark background like black, charcoal, or cranberry and then putting your text in white can give your brochure a dramatic look. Just make sure there is a lot of contrast between your background and your text, and you will also want to widen the spaces between type for better readability. Also, when you do reverse printing, it is important to ask your printer for full bleed.
Using a new approach to design, brochure printing can be not only fun again but also make your company the talk of the town. And don't forget that you can also look for inspiration for unusual brochure designs online.
