Computers and Technology Business Cards

The computers and technology industry is expanding fast, so every opportunity counts! Don’t miss a chance to network and connect with potential clients or employers by always keeping a business card around. But it is very important that your cards communicate a clear message, so consider these tips:

Specialty
Make sure you list your speciality on your business cards, even if you have a job title that seems clear. Usually this can be explained in a few words or less: .NET Developer, IT Security Specialist, and the like. While a job title like “Sr. Developer” might seem clear to you, non-industry folks may need a little more direction.

Back of Card
Use the back of your computers and technology business card to go into details, but leave the front free of too much content. The front of your card should be limited to basic contact information, your job title, specialty, and logo. Get their attention with the front and give them the details on the back. You can fit about 100 words with 10pt font on the back of a card.

Keep ‘em Around
Always have cards with you. Whether you stick them on a bulletin board, hand them out at meetings, or leave them at a table in a coffee shop, you should still always carry a handful in a business card case or your wallet.

Got a Brand?
If you have a brand, use it! Always tie your brand into your business cards and websites and any other marketing materials you might have. The key is to build recognition. The more that people see your brand, the more likely they are to remember you.

QR Codes
You’ve seen them around by now. They are the square boxes that act like bar codes. Anyone with a smartphone can scan it and be taken to your website, blog, Google Maps, or even an email. Make sure the QR code is at least one inch by one inch so it will work even on older phones.
