What NOT To Do in Business Card Printing
Using business card printing to present a good image of your business sounds simple, right? It can be, but only if you are careful not to do the following:
Do NOT print your own business cards.
There is no excuse for at home business card printing. Not when you can have them professionally printed for the same cost and in under a week. The quality of professional business card printing is far better then any well meaning do-it-yourself business card printing.
Do NOT use overly bright colors.
Colors can be used to draw attention to your card. However, overly bright colors or too many different colors will distract from the purpose of your business card. Colors are a great way to connect your business cards with your brand, so choose two colors that look nice together and then use them for all of your marketing materials. Use them for your logo and/or place them in your card design.
Do NOT use cheap paper.
A flimsy card stock will send a terrible impression of your company. The way your card feels in hand will make a big impact on the image of your business. Choose a thicker paper for your card. Or, if you are a specialty business, try out rubber, magnet, or metal materials for business card printing. But for most of us, a thick, coated paper stock is the best choice.
Do NOT get too wild with your design.
You do not need to get too wild in order for your card to stand out. Remember that the main goal of your business card is to attract customers. If your card is outrageous, then you will lose customers who are looking for a serious company with which to do business. Subtle changes like rounded edges or unique textures are enough to make you memorable.
Do NOT clash your design with your logo.
Your logo connects your business card with your business and as such should be treated as the star. Do not choose a business card printing template that clashes with your logo. Also, do NOT make your logo too large. A tastefully small logo that stands out simply because of its great design is stronger than a logo that screams "LOOK AT ME."
A classic design is the way to go with business card printing. Make your business cards classy and make them connect with your company brand and you can't go wrong.
