Make those New Year’s Resolutions Stick!

According to the nations official Web portal,, Americans commonly resolve every January to:

1. Lose weight
2. Manage debt/save money
3. Get a better job
4. Get Fit
5. Get a better education
6. Drink less alcohol
7. Quit Smoking
8. Reduce stress
9. Take a trip
10. Volunteer to help others

So why is it that so many of us will be making these same resolutions next New Years just like we have probably been doing for the past one, five or maybe even ten New Years? The following tips that will help you make those resolutions stick!

1. Set specific goals
2. Plan how you will execute your resolution and set a timeframe. Too many of us break our resolution within the first couple of weeks because we don’t write down a plan of action.
3. Track your progress. Keeping a log of your progress will make it easier for you to stay motivated.
4. Reward yourself! Rewarding yourself for each milestone you’ve accomplished will keep you motivated to conquer the next milestone.
