Get your message seen in a glance
A flyer only works if someone reads it in the two or three seconds they're willing to give it. Keep your core message — a coupon, a grand opening, a new product — front and center, and let a strong central image and clear, informative text do the heavy lifting. A single unfolded sheet keeps things simple; if you need to add flair to your flyer, we offer multiple folding options built for exactly that.
If you’re ready to get started, choose your paper and cardstock, protective coating, and a size that fits — standard or fully custom. You also get access to PrintPlace’s design templates, which means you don’t need to start your flyer design from scratch.
Our Bestselling Flyer — Make It Yours, Too
If you're ordering your first batch of flyers and aren't sure what to pick, here's what works for most businesses: 8.5" x 11" is our most popular size on 100 lb. Paper. This configuration provides plenty of room for an image-heavy design and sturdy enough to hand out and mail without feeling flimsy. Most customers print full color on the front with the back left blank for a clean, simple layout, and pick a 5-day turnaround time. You can change any of these in the calculator above — this is just the fastest path to a good-looking flyer if you'd rather not compare every option yourself.
Customization Options
Paper and Cardstock
Seven weights, from a lightweight handout to heavyweight cardstock built to survive a trade show table.

70 lb. Paper Uncoated
- The lightest option we offer; easy to carry in bulk and fold after reading
- Smooth, uncoated surface you can write on, handy for take-one flyers with a fill-in-the-blank offer
- Best for: high-volume handouts where weight and cost matter more than a premium feel

80 lb. Paper
- A step up from 70 lb. yet light enough to carry and fold with ease
- Available in gloss or matte on both sides
- Best for: everyday handouts that want a bit more substance than 70 lb.

100 lb. Paper - Our Most Popular Paper Stock
- Fine-textured and noticeably sturdier than magazine paper, without the added cost of cardstock
- Choose Matte, Gloss, or High Gloss UV coating
- Recommended for flyers going in the mail because it holds up to handling without the price tag of cardstock

- Light but noticeably more durable than paper — still easy to fold and hand out
- Matte, Gloss, or High Gloss UV on both sides, or gloss one side with high gloss UV on the other
- Best for: flyers that need to survive more handling than paper allows, without going as heavy as 14 pt.

- Sturdy; resists folding or bending on its own
- Uncoated on both sides, so customers can write on it directly
- Best for: flyers doubling as a fillable form, RSVP card, or coupon customers write on

- Same durability as 14 pt., with the front coated for color and the back left uncoated for writing
- Best for: a flyer with a polished printed side and a blank side for notes, addresses, or a stamp

14 pt. Cardstock - Customer's Top Choice for Durability
- Resists wear and tear without bending easily; we add scoring automatically if you choose a folding option
- Matte, Gloss, or High Gloss UV on both sides
- Best for: small-event handouts and product or service promotions meant to last

16 pt. Cardstock - Our Heaviest Cardstock Option
- Noticeably thicker and heavier than 14 pt. — the weight alone signals a serious, established business
- Matte, Gloss, or High Gloss UV on both sides, or high gloss UV front with gloss back
- Best for: flyers you want to feel as premium as they look
Coating
- Matte – A sophisticated, subdued finish that's easy to read; ideal for text-heavy designs
- Gloss – Fingerprint-resistant with enough shine to make colors pop; excellent for colorful designs
- High Gloss UV — Shinier than standard gloss and built to withstand repeated handling; ideal for large events or high-traffic handouts
Each coating is available on both sides or just the front, so you can match the finish to how the flyer will actually be used.
Printed Side
- Full Color Both Sides – Make use of the whole flyer, front and back
- Full Color Front, Blank Back – A clean look up front with room on the back to write, stamp, or leave blank
Both are common choices — pick based on how much you need to say, not on which one is "standard."
Turnaround Time
- 5 Business Days – Our standard turnaround time and the right call for most orders
- 3 Business Days, 2 Business Days, or 1 Business Day – Ideal for when your event is closer than you'd like
- Same Day – Available when you need flyers in hand today
Turnaround time refers to production time only, which entails the days we spend printing your order; it does not include shipping days, which depends on the delivery method you choose. Use the Get Shipping Estimate tool above to see exact delivery timing and cost for your ZIP code before you check out.

Marketing Ideas
Keep these tips in mind while creating your design.
Start your design with your target customer in mind. Use colors, text, and images that appeal specifically to them, not just to the public as a whole. Corporate businesses aiming for professional branding should lean on blue and green to convey authority and trust. Fun, fashion-forward brands or restaurants can excite customers with orange, red, and yellow. High-end brands tend to go minimalist, with a black-and-white palette.
Keep the design simple and easy to read. A straightforward approach works best for flyers going to schools and small communities. Club flyers can be more extravagant but shouldn't get too busy. Make sure the design still leads the reader to your main point or announcement, and keep an address, date, or contact number easy to find.
Think about where you'll distribute your flyers. Real estate agents get better results handing out flyers in malls or retail areas near the property. Small businesses do well distributing right in front of their store or on nearby streets. New companies can get their name out at conventions, trade shows, and other high-traffic events.
Standard Flyers FAQs
Our thickest paper stock is the 100 lb. Paper, while 16 pt. Cardstock is the heaviest overall. If you need something easy to store and carry in bulk, go with 100 lb. Paper. If you want a flyer built to last the longest, 16 pt. Cardstock is your best bet.
Our 8.5" x 11" flyer size is a popular choice because it gives you enough space for an image-heavy design. 4" x 6" is the go-to for smaller flyers that are easy to hand over and easy for customers to hold onto, whether they refer back to it at home or bring it into your store.
Color choice drives how effective your flyer is. A bright or bold color grabs attention; a dull one gets passed by. Want a fun, approachable look? Stick to orange and yellow. Need a more professional tone? Cool shades like blue, gray, and green read as more buttoned-up.
No, turnaround time and delivery time are two separate clocks. Turnaround refers to how much time we spend printing, and it could take 1 to 5 business days, depending on the option you choose. Shipping time is added on top of that and depends on the delivery method you select at checkout. Before you order, use the Get Shipping Estimate tool above (just enter your ZIP code) to see the total time from order to in-hand delivery. This way you can account for both the turnaround time and delivery.
Folding makes large orders easier to store and transport. Keep in mind that the fold you should choose depends on how you plan to organize your flyers before handing them out.
It depends on the look and feel you're after. 100 lb. Paper is a great choice if you want your flyers to feel substantial without the cost of cardstock. 10 pt. Cardstock gives you a thickness similar to a magazine cover. 14 pt. cardstock is our customers' top pick — it strikes the balance between durability and flexibility that works for most uses.
Paper (70 lb., 80 lb., and 100 lb.) is lighter and more flexible. It’s easy to fold, carry in bulk, and hand out by the hundreds. Meanwhile, Cardstock (10 pt. through 16 pt.) is thicker and stiffer, closer to what you'd expect from a postcard or greeting card. If your flyer will be handled a lot, mailed, or needs to stand up on its own, go with cardstock. If you mainly need something light to hand out in volume, paper is the better fit and the more economical one.
We offer Gloss, Matte, or Uncoated finishes, and you can pair any of them with your flyer based on the look you're going for. Matte is best for readability, Uncoated is best for writability and a natural look, and Gloss is best for rich, bold colors.
Not always exactly. Your monitor uses RGB color (light-based) model while we print using CMYK color (ink-based), so we strongly recommend converting any RGB design files to CMYK before sending them over. The paper’s finish plays a role too: Glossy stock makes colors look richer and bolder by reflecting light, while Matte and Uncoated stock gives a softer, more subdued look. For color-critical designs and branded materials, request an online proof to review before we print or a hard copy proof, which may involve an additional fee. We'll make every effort to match your colors when you request one.
A free online proof is available on request so you can review your design before it goes to press. If color accuracy is critical for your branding, you can also request a hard copy proof for an additional fee. Either way, we won't start printing until you've had a chance to check it.
Shipping is calculated separately from your flyer price and depends on your quantity, destination, and delivery speed. Use the Get Shipping Estimate tool above — just enter your ZIP code — to see your exact shipping cost and delivery date before you check out, so there's nothing to guess at.
Just select your preferred folding option when you place your order. Flyers on thinner stocks like 10 pt. Cardstock are scored and folded before we ship them; flyers on 14 pt. and heavier stocks are scored but shipped flat, so you get a clean crease without a permanent fold in transit.
Keep text, images, logos, and other key design elements off the fold lines — that's what keeps a folded layout looking clean instead of cut off.
Use our free layout templates, which include trim, bleed, and safe zones built in. They keep your layout clean and help you avoid unwanted white borders or text and images that get cut off in printing.
Choose the Shrink Wrap option under Advanced Options and we'll bundle your flyers into shrink-wrapped sets in the size you choose, so a large order arrives organized and ready to hand out instead of loose in a box.

Make the Most Out of Business Flyer Printing
Unsure how to make a flyer? Keep these easy tips and tricks in mind while creating your very own design.
Keep your target customers in mind. Use colors, text, and images that will appeal specifically to them, not just to the public as a whole. Corporate businesses aiming for professional branding should use blue and green elements to convey a sense of authority and trust. Fun, fashion-forward brands or restaurants can excite customers with orange, red, and yellow elements. High-end brands normally go for a minimalist approach with a black and white inspired design.
Make your flyer design simple and easy to read. Stick to a straightforward approach for flyers that will be distributed to schools and small communities. Club flyers should be extravagant but not too busy. Make sure the design leads the customer to your main point or announcement. Important information such as an address, date, and contact number should be easy to find.
Where you distribute your business flyers is also very important. Distribute them in areas where your target customers will most likely see them. It is easier to attract business in relevant locations. Real estate agents can hand out flyers in malls or retail areas near the residential location they are selling. Small businesses normally distribute right in front of their store or in nearby streets. New companies can get their name out there at conventions, trade shows, and other high traffic marketing events.
