8.5x11 Brochures

8.5x11 is the most common brochure size and can be folded in a variety of ways, which is why it is important to determine your purpose before you begin the design. Check out the few ways in which 8.5x11 brochures can be used to see if any work for your campaign:

• Send out as part of a direct mail campaign.
• Choose a display location that your target audience will frequent.
• Pass out brochures to your clients and vendors for them to give to others who would be interested in your business.
• Use the brochure as a sales tool in office.
• Prepare in advance brochures that will answer questions that are sent to you by clients or potential clients.
• Distribute your brochures to attendees of conferences, seminars, trade shows, and meetings that you speak at.
• Give them to individuals who work at or frequent organizations where you volunteer.
• Leave some in your lobby and in reception areas around your town, for instance, doctor and dentist offices, local professional offices, and schools.
• Design your brochures to unfold as a poster. Many people like to collect and display posters.

Folded brochures are eligible to mail at Letter or Flat rates, depending on the final/folded dimensions.

Letter Rate (average $.27 each for Standard)

Requirements:

• Minimum size: 3.5" high x 5" wide
• Maximum size: 6.125" high x 11.5" wide
• Tabbing: folded brochures must tab closed to mail at automated postal rates. Single tab is required if tabbing at top of mailing panel, double tab if tabbing at bottom.  Tabbing edge must be parallel to the folded bottom edge.
• Design: must include a 4" wide x 2" tall unprinted area in bottom right corner of mailing panel
• Coating: High Gloss or Dull UV coating cannot be added to mailing side

Flat Rate (average $.53 each for Standard)

Requirements:

• Minimum size: 5" high x 6" wide
• Maximum size: 12" high x 15" wide
• Tabbing: folded brochures must tab closed to mail at automated postal rates. Single tab is required if tabbing at top of mailing panel, double tab if tabbing at bottom.  Tabbing edge must be parallel to the folded bottom edge.
• Design: must include a 4" wide x 2" tall unprinted area
• Coating: High Gloss or Dull UV coating cannot be added to mailing side
