Finance and Insurance Business Cards

The finance industry is unique in many ways, so your finance and insurance business cards should reflect this reality. Whether you run an international hedge-fund or help people in your  community find the right insurance policy, your business cards can work overtime to drive customers to your business if you do them right. Here are a few guidelines to get you on the right track.

Brand is King!
If you have a website, work for a major firm, or have any kind of other marketing materials circulating, then you have an opportunity to tie all these together with a brand. Logos, fonts, color schemes, and graphics all help these different marketing materials tie together. Make sure your card incorporates these elements, with a specific focus on your logo.

Keep it Simple
Your finance and insurance business cards should contain just enough information to communicate what you offer and how to find you, and that’s it. If you want extra information about specific service offerings, consider using the back of the business card where you can fit about 100 words using a 10pt font. The front should be reserved for corporate identity, your name, phone, email address, and location.

Lots of Color
Color gets attention. While you have to balance keeping your design professional, at a minimum consider putting your logo in color and some of your text in color. This helps keep your finance and insurance business cards visually interesting.

Remember to avoid too much color, though. Full card gradients or intense patterns can make your card look cheap. Less is more in most cases when it comes to business cards and color graphics.

Website + Email Address
A common trend is to avoid using both an email address and a website. The reason is that space on your business card is precious and listing your website twice (once in full URL and once in part in the last section of your email address) is redundant. The exception to the rule is if you are using an email that is not connected to your domain, like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com.
