Zed Card Printing

Successfully showcasing yourself as a model requires having the right tools, and the most important of these tools is a zed card. With a zed card, you can promote your many talents, whether your purpose is to land an acting gig, modeling gig, or both. To really market yourself well, your zed cards need to be of the highest quality both in design and printing. Here are some tips to keep in mind for zed cards that make you look fantastic!

• Hire a professional photographer. Poor quality photographs will negatively reflect your talent.
• Make sure your photographer provides you with the full rights for your photos. Also require files that are at least 300 dpi for the best resolution.
• Include a variety of shots. Usually you will need a head shot, swimwear shot, business shot, "fashion magazine" shot, and "clothes catalog" shot.
• Include stats such as your contact information; height; weight; bust, cup, waist, and hip sizes; dress and shoe sizes; hair color and length; eye color; and jobs preferred.
• Lay out your zed cards appropriately by placing your headshot and name on one side, and your other photos and stats on the second side.
• The standard amount of photos placed on the second size is 3 or 4, but up to 6 is also appropriate.
• Make sure your shots include a variety of angles and styles. And do not forget your action shot.
• Zed cards are normally printed on heavy paper stock. A 10pt cover stock works well, but a 14pt cover stock really makes zed cards feel professional.
• Using a heavy gloss coating such as high gloss UV will really make your photos pop.
• The standard size for zed cards is 5.5"x8.5" and of course are double-sided.
• You may decide to print more than one type of design to have the right presentation available for different modeling and acting jobs.
