Customizing Your Rack Cards
We offer extensive customization options to ensure your rack cards reflect your brand aesthetic and value, and your business stands out from the competition.
Premium cardstock. Choose 10 pt., 14., or 16 pt. cardstock; higher points indicate thicker and more durable cards.
Standard sizes. Our rack cards are available in various standard sizes, including 4” x 9” and 7.875” x 9”, to fit store-bought countertop displays, acrylic holders, and rotating racks.
Coating. Choose a matte finish to make your card’s surface non-reflective; gloss coating to produce richer, bolder colors; or high gloss finish to achieve the shiniest effect, almost like a mirror.
Perforation. Add perforations to create tear-off coupons, vouchers, contact information tabs, or tickets.
Printed side. Choose between double-sided or front-only printing.
Rack Cards Frequently Asked Questions
The best option depends on your budget, marketing goal, and brand aesthetic. For instance, 10 pt. is a cost-effective choice for large-volume distribution, while 14. pt and 16 pt. are suitable options if you want your cards to feel more premium and substantial.
The design and brand aesthetics will determine the right coating. Choose a matte finish for text-heavy designs because it promotes excellent readability by reducing glare. Gloss and high gloss, meanwhile, are ideal if you want a reflective finish that makes the colors pop. However, high gloss provides a more intense, mirror-like shine.
In most cases, the answer is yes. Using standard sizes ensures compatibility with most store-bought stands and countertop displays. Also, they are faster and cheaper to print than custom sizes.
The upper third of your card is the most important area because it is the only visible part when displayed on countertop displays (unless they are made from transparent acrylic). Consequently, the top third should feature a bold headline and a visual hook to make people want to pick them up.

Marketing Ideas for Rack Card Printing
If your rack card will be placed in a traditional display rack, use bold colors, graphics and images to capture attention. Make sure your font is easy to read at a glance, so anyone browsing the rack knows exactly what you offer. Take advantage of PrintPlace’s high-gloss UV coating option to make your rack card stand out from the rest.
Rack cards can be useful outside of hospitality racks as well. Churches can print rack cards for bulletin inserts to advertise special events or as visitor information cards. They can also be displayed in single racks around a store as flyers for an upcoming sale or as detailed information cards for specific products.
Don’t think 4” x 9” is enough space? We have other standard sizes that fold down to 4” x 9”. Choose 7.875” x 9” (half-fold) and get 4 panels of information or 11.875” x 9” (trifold) for 6 panels. Want something smaller? We have a 3.5” x 8.5” option.
