Reach Your Local Target Audience With Full Service EDDM
Do you want to send out promotional materials to your local community, but don't have a mailing list? If so, try our Full Service EDDM, which eliminates all the heavy workload on your end. All you need to do is select your delivery routes and dates, and we'll handle everything else — postcard printing, processing, bundling, and delivery to the post office.
Our Full Service EDDM also comes with a wide range of customization options, allowing you to choose from different postcard sizes and materials to suit your marketing goals and budget.
Common Marketing Uses of EDDM® Postcards
Local businesses typically use postcards for these marketing campaigns:
- Grand opening
- Seasonal sales
- Special events like concerts and community activities
- Coupons and other incentives
- Brand awareness
- Omnichannel marketing (i.e., combining print and digital channels)
How to Customize Your EDDM® Postcards
Select from four USPS-approved sizes to suit various marketing goals and budgets.
Our standard postcard size is 6.5” x 9”, which is a popular choice for both business and personal use. The 6.5” x 8”, meanwhile, is an excellent option for simple greetings and short messages.
Rest assured that all our EDDM® postcards comply with the USPS thickness and size requirements.
Elevate your postcards with the right lamination.
Choose from these three types of coating: matte, gloss, and high gloss UV. The ideal choice depends on the desired look and feel, the type of cardstock, and how the postcards will be used.
- Matte gives postcards a flat, non-reflective surface that doesn't interfere with readability, making it ideal for text-heavy designs and postcards intended for writing.
- Gloss creates a reflective surface, making colors, especially darker ones, appear more vibrant and eye-catching.
- High gloss UV offers the highest glare and brightest finish, almost similar to a mirror, creating a dramatic visual effect.
Choose 10 pt., 14 pt., or 16 pt. cardstock.
"Pt." stands for "point," which is a unit of measurement for paper thickness. The 10 pt. cardstock is the thinnest and most flexible option (only available for "print only" postcards), while the 14 pt. offers a balance of thickness and flexibility that feels high-quality without being too stiff.
The thickest option is the 16 pt. cardstock, which is ideal if you're aiming for a more premium look and feel.
Print Dual-Purpose Postcards
Your EDDM® postcards can also serve as discount coupons, business cards, or event tickets if you add tear-off perforations.

Design and Actionable Tips
Having a clear goal is key to an effective postcard marketing campaign because it helps you determine the ideal design and actionable strategies. Here are some practical suggestions:
- Craft a strong, specific call to action (CTA) that encourages users to take the desired action (e.g., redeem coupons or sign up for a service).
- Use bold offers (e.g., 30% off this weekend only).
- Add a QR code to your design to direct users to an online store, a landing page, or any digital channel. Combining print and digital assets can boost customer engagement and track campaign performance.
- Schedule mailings to align with holidays, local events, or peak shopping seasons.

EDDM® Postcards FAQ
Yes, you need to indicate your company’s physical address or a P.O. box on the postcard. EDDM® direct mail services require that the return address is indicated on the top left corner.
No, but you can add tear-off perforations if you want your postcards to also serve as vouchers, business cards, or event tickets.
Both services allow you to reach your local target audience. However, Full Service EDDM is a more convenient option because you don’t have to provide us with a mailing list or apply for a postage permit. By contrast, direct mail requires having your own list of addresses, doing all the paperwork, and delivering the postcards to the post office.
Track your campaign’s performance by using unique phone numbers, coupon codes, or QR codes that direct users to custom landing pages. Also, you can ask customers questions like “Where did you hear about us?” to gain more insight.
EDDM® Layout Templates
When designing your EDDM® postcards, we highly recommend using our layout templates to ensure that they meet the USPS requirements. How to Optimize Your Every Door Direct Mail® Campaign
Create a personalized message. Your customers will notice and appreciate a message that includes their name. Also, don’t limit your EDDM® postcards to sales and events promotions. Send out holiday greetings and exclusive discounts to make them feel special.Use colors that appeal to your target market. Your postcards will be sent to people based on their age, income, and other relevant demographic characteristics. What colors, fonts, and other design elements would call their attention? Keep your audience in mind as you design your postcard.
Include a call to action. Your message should encourage customers to act. Whether it’s to use the discount voucher, visit your website, or order your new product, make your call to action clear on your postcard.
