Top Tips for Green Printing
“Going green” has never been as important and popular than now. With more customers becoming increasingly sensitive to any and all efforts you may be making to help our environment, green printing should be on the top of your list.
Print on both sides
Save paper by printing on both sides. This simple solution may save you more money than you think in addition to saving on paper used.
Find a printer who uses vegetable-based inks. These types of inks are far less harmful on the environment when disposed of and do not emit nearly the same levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during the printing process as do regular inks.
Recycle unused materials
Have left over paper? Make sure your company has a plan for recycling unused printed materials. You should also be sure to work with a printing firm who has an aggressive plan for recycling as well.
Not all distribution methods are as energy efficient as others. Consider distribution of printed materials via volunteers who can leave door hangers on doors, as an example. Any efforts to save fuel can go a long way towards helping the environment.
Advertise your efforts
Don’t be ashamed to advertise your efforts to go green. A short bullet-point list on the back of your advertisements can increase customer loyalty and brand value. Best of all, most of these green efforts will not cost you a penny more than traditional printing.
